Knit Dress with Flower

When I started this dress it was with the intention of making a knitted version of the crochet dress but as typical for me, I started looking for shortcuts, namely eliminating the seam. Besides my knitting seams tend to be more noticeable than seams in crochet.Actually the crochet dress can be made using this same method.

Materials: Baby yarn;scrap of a contrast color;knitting needles,US size 2; crochet hook, US C/2.75mm
Cast on 26 st. Row 1(rs): Knit across
Row 2: P9 st, K8 st, P9
Row 3,4:Repeat row 1 and 2;Row 5: knit across
Make neck- Row 6:p9, bind off 8 knitwise (for neck), p9 Row 7: K9,cast on 8st, k9
Row 8: P9 st, K8 st, P9
Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice(12 rows total) Bind off. (strip should be about 4 inches long) Fold in half and sew sides about 1/2 inch to make armholes.
I noticed the neckline was a little loose (it's not a bug, it's a feature), so I added a little flower to tighten it up.
Flower
Petal- ch 7,sl st in first ch. Using contrast color, make 5 petals and sew on neckline.

These dresses have mostly designed with my 5 year old daughter in mind, and I was trying to make them easy to use, e.g. easy on, easy off, but the original idea for more dress came from a reader who asked for some crochet items, so if anyone has any ideas or requests, feel free to email me.
