HAT
DRESS
Sleeves
Chain 28 loosely, join to make ring.
Rnd 1-ch 1, sc in each chain (if the stiches are firm enough no stiffening is needed)
Rnds 2-3-ch 1,sc around
Rnd 4-ch1,*sc in next 5 sc, sc next two sc tog* around, sl st to first st
Rnds 5-6-rep rnds 2-3
Rnd 7-ch1,*sc in next 4 sc, sc next two sc tog* around, sl st to first st
Rnds 8-9-rep rnds 2-3
Rnd 10-ch1,*sc in next 3 sc, sc next two sc tog* around, sl st to first st
Rnds 11-12-rep rnds 2-3
Rnd 13-ch1,*sc in next 2 sc, sc next two sc tog* around, sl st to first st
Rnds 14-15-rep rnds 2-3. Continue in this manner until you have can to a point.
I usually make it to about rnd 11, then start spiraling and decreasing until it comes to a point but sometimes I like to be precise.
Brim-connect thread to base of hat,ch 3
Rnd 12 double crochet(dc) in each st, sl st to first st
Rnd 2-dc in each dc, sl st to first st
For a decoration or display hat I repeated rnds 2&3 and then Rnd 5-ch 1 sc around, with a wire under it for shaping. Stiffening works well too.
However for hat that will be safe for little ones but will still stand up, only work rnds 1-2 and then work rnd 5
Bodice -Chain 20 for foundation.
Row 1-sc in second chain from hook, sc across(19 st)
Rows 2-3-ch 1, sc across
Row 4-Half double crochet (hdc) in next 4 sc, (armhole)chain 3, skip 3 st, hdc in next 5 st, ch 3, skip 3 st, hdc in next 4 sc.
Row 5(sc next 2 sc tog)2x, sc in each ch, sc next 2 sc tog, sc, sc next 2sc tog, sc in in ch, (sc next 2 sc tog)2x. Finish off.
Skirt
Row 1-Attach thread to foundation chain; ch 3, 2 dc in each ch.
Row 2-ch 3, dc in each dc
Row 3-ch 3, dc *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc* rep around.
Row 4-ch 1, sc around. Finish off.
Rnd 1-Attatch thread to armhole at bottom, sc in each sc, 2 sc in the hdc, dc in 1st ch, 2 dc next ch, dc in next ch, 2 sc in hdc, sl st to first st.
Rnd 2-sc in each sc and dc in each dc, sl st to first st.
Rnd 3-sc around, sl st to first st.
The skirt is not sew together to make it easier to dress and the overlap is deep it does not matter; just sew a snap to bodice to close.
